Work I am Passionate About

Here are some examples of support I offer and what people ask me for support with.

My meditation and therapy spaces make room for the experiences below to be explored in different but complementary ways.

  • Helping those searching for a better understanding and relationship with themselves.
  • Honouring, understanding and helping people find ways to manage past experiences that impact them in the here and now.
  • Working not just with individuals but also their supporters (e.g. loved ones, parents and families) to create lasting change.
  • Supporting people to learn about and create meaningful change in relationships to themselves or others.
  • Helping those who want to feel connected and are seeking a sense of community.
  • Honouring and making space for spirituality and related practice in the work.

Helping those searching for a better understanding and relationship with themselves

I have experience and enjoy working with people of all ages who are searching to know themselves better. Who want to make space for themselves. Who are wanting to live a life that feels aligned with who they are deep down. Who want to feel more content and in balance.

I help those I work with consider what is getting in the way of their hopes and to also see their strengths and potential.

I make space in meditation or therapy spaces for people to be curious, to explore possibilities and to feel safe to be playful and creative.

I have experience in supporting those I work with develop a richer and more compassionate relationship with themselves. This can feel like an alien and insurmountable possibility for most people; In my experience this is often the thing most people share as being the most profound and meaningful difference they experience at the end of therapy or meditation.

I enjoy helping people to find ways to build trust in themselves, to feel brave to show up in situations in a way that is in flow with who they are.

Honouring, understanding and helping people find ways to manage past experiences that impact them in the here and now

My experience providing therapy has taught me the importance of helping people understand, and, if they want and are ready to, process experiences that are related to the things they wish to be different (e.g. strong emotions, troubling thoughts, urges).

This can look different depending on the experiences and opportunities a person has had before they come for support.

I make sure this work is always done at a pace and a time that feels safe and there is space to build resources and skills to support this work. It is in this type of work that I often draw upon EMDR as a recommended therapy.

Those I have supported through this type of therapeutic support commonly share they feel empowered, less impacted by the past and are ready to make positive changes in their lives.

I have done this type of work with people of different ages who have difficulties related to trauma, anxiety, low mood, phobias and who may have developed ritualised or compulsive strategies to manage how they feel.

Working not just with individuals but also their supporters (e.g. loved ones, parents and families) to create lasting change

I have experience of working with families as well as individuals wishing for support. This helps contribute to a deeper understanding of what is going on and can help everyone to be empowered to leave therapy with insight and the skills to move forward.

I often work with parents. It is common for me to hear a parents understandable concern about their children’s distress, feeling unsure how to help their loved one or noticing challenges in their relationship with their child.

Parenting is challenging. It is a constant learning experience that doesn’t stop even when a parent has too much to do, is tired and sleep deprived!

I often support parents, when helpful, to notice and understand why strong or sometimes old feelings are around when they are caring for their family. This is always done with support and understanding and is a common experience in relationships and especially when care giving.

I have had feedback that my support has left parents feeling more equipped to meet their children’s feelings and needs with more confidence, understanding and skill. Also it has helped parents feel more compassionate toward themselves and their own experiences.

Learning about and empowering change in relational dynamics with others and ourselves

I greatly enjoy helping people navigate meaningful relationships, understanding the role they play in the relational ‘dances’ and empowering them to see the opportunities this insight gives them to influence their lives and relationships.

I have experience of helping people understand how they have come to believe certain things about themselves because of their experiences and how this can influence their relationships to themselves as well as others.

With this understanding, those I have supported, have noticed it is easier to be kinder to themselves and that they can relate to others in healthy ways (e.g. putting in new and health boundaries).

Helping those who want to feel connected and are seeking a sense of community

In this day and age, it can be easy to feel isolated and separate.

I have experience with and feel passionate about creating spaces where people feel safe and they know that all parts of them are welcome.

I am always finding ways to develop a sense of community in my work, as I believe that belonging is an experience we all deserve and yearn for. This is why I also feel passionate about involving those around the person seeking support when wanted and appropriate (see section below on involving loved ones).

Whether in meditation spaces or therapy, I support those I work with to explore what meaningful connections and community means to them in the room and outside of it.

Honouring and making space for spiritual and practice in the work

I place a lot of value in holding and inviting in spirituality into the work, whether a person I support is spiritually curious or has a practice that they want to be honoured in their support.

I have experience of weaving this into individual spaces to ensure support is aligned and most supportive for the person I am working with.

This can include blending therapy alongside practices that help a person feel more in touch with themselves or their faith. My offerings value and include space for meditation, prayer and other spiritual practice that nourishes and supports stability in a persons life.
